We continue to ensure that all of our support and approaches give our pupils a positive sense of identity through the continued development of our PSE programme. HOW TO REPORT A SAFEGUARDING CONCERN

Staff can report safeguarding issues to either their Line Manager or the Principal. Pupils and parents/guardians can report safeguarding matters via email to info@spbcollege.claudy.ni.sch.uk for the attention of Mr B. Rainey, Assistant Principal, DTCP, Co-Ordinator of Safeguarding/First Aid

As part of wider safeguarding responsibilities our staff will be alert to:

• Disclosures by pupils of their exposure to the extremist actions, views or materials of others outside of school.
• Parent/Guardian reports of changes in behaviour, friendship or actions and requests for assistance.
• Pupils voicing opinions drawn from extremist ideologies.
• Intolerance of difference, whether secular, religious or views based on, but not exclusive to gender, disability, homophobia, race, colour or culture.
• Attempts to impose extremist views or practices on others.
  
  

At St. Patrick's & St. Brigid's College we encourage the use of external agencies and speakers to enrich the opportunities for our pupils. We will positively vet those external agencies and speakers who we consider could add to the learning experiences for our pupils.

Our school ethos is to encourage students to understand opposing views and ideologies, appropriate to their age, understanding and abilities, and to be able to actively engage with them in informed debate.

The college has its own dedicated wellbeing lead, a dedicated learning mentor and has access to its own dedicated counsellor.
